The Duluth Bethel is a spiritually grounded, private nonprofit organization, offering individuals dignity, hope and the opportunity to improve their quality of life through chemical dependency rehabilitation and community correction services. The Bethel Outpatient Center (BOC) provides chemical dependency services to help people ages 18 and over to overcome their addictions.  The Program is licensed by the Minnesota Department of Human Services and offers a wide range of services for men and women to help deal with the far-reaching effects of addiction.  The BOC exists to help those struggling with substance abuse overcome addiction and begin the process of reassembling their lives.

The Duluth Bethel is a spiritually grounded, private nonprofit organization, offering individuals dignity, hope and the opportunity to improve their quality of life through chemical dependency rehabilitation and community correction services. The Bethel Port Rehabilitation Program was created to assist chemically dependent individuals on the continuing path to sobriety.  It is a home, a halfway house, a chemical-free environment offering two distinct types of programs based on the needs of our clients.  Port Rehab offers short term program involvement that includes vocational planning and efforts to secure employment.  Extended Care is designed for individuals needing a more structured treatment program, with an emphasis on relapse prevention.

Colonial Management Group believes that addiction to heroin and other opiates is a disease. Colonial Management Group runs methadone treatment centers to help addicts overcome addiction to heroin, opium and opiate-based prescriptions. We use methadone treatment as a way to relieve the craving for heroin, and opiate-based prescription drugs (Dilaudid, Percodan, Percocet, Propoxyphene). A 21-bed transitional living facility for chemically dependent American Indian men and women, 16 years of age and older. There are two separate living areas in our halfway house. The Thunderbird unit has 12 beds for men and the Wren unit has 9 beds for women. Each unit has their own social area. The Thunderbird-Wren Halfway House provides a chemically-free, supportive home environment. Thunderbird-Wren House provides opportunities and encourages each client to investigate American Indian cultural/spiritual experiences which are geared toward their individual needs.

Aftercare and Relapse
Aftercare and relapse prevention services provide support and stability for ongoing recovery of individuals who have completed primary treatment. Both the men's and women's aftercare groups focus on issues such as coping skills, securing ongoing support, family and marital dynamics, work pressures, socializing, spirituality, relaxation and stress management. Relapse prevention may be recommended for those considered "high risk" for returning to alcohol or other drug use. Relapse prevention builds awareness of a person's personal relapse process. The goal is to explore old patterns and new choices to stop the cycle from repeating.

Northland Recovery Center offers a flexible and confidential network of services individually tailored to each woman's needs. This allows each woman to maintain her connections with children, family and community supports. Inpatient Treatment provides intensive therapy in all aspects of recovery for those who are unable to maintain abstinence during outpatient treatment. The residential stay is followed by an individualized schedule of outpatient treatment during day or evening hours. Prairie House Recovery offers gender specific treatment in a predictable and secure environment with consistent support. Like the young men at MLRC, the young women of Prairie House benefit from the opportunity to explore their personal issues in an atmosphere that is sensitive to issues, such as victimization, aggression or depression. The PHR facility is an 8-bed residential care program created to help girls, age thirteen to eighteen, focus on recovery from chemical use disorders without the distraction of a coed environment. At PHR, teenage girls experience a structured, safe, and challenging environment where they grow in self-esteem and emotional maturity.

It is our belief that alcohol and drug addiction is a disease, not a character flaw or weakness. Although addiction is an illness, it is not an identity. One characteristic of addiction is acting in ways that are “out of character” for a person. This generally produces feelings of guilt and shame. While we recognize addiction as an illness, we also understand that this does not absolve each person of responsibility for their behavior. It is our firm belief that it is only by taking responsibility for our actions that each person, and their families, can begin to heal and forgive.

Omada Behavioral Health Services is a Primary Outpatient Chemical Health program. We are licensed by the State of Minnesota and contracted by Rice County to provide chemical dependency treatment services. We also provide support both before and after an inpatient treatment. We provide counseling to families with concerns about a teen’s chemical use and can help to identify what resources might be most helpful in each given situation. We are here to provide assisstance to both teens and their families surrounding the chemical health issues.

Rewind is faith-based. It is a non-denominational ministry. Its residents are generally referred by chaplains in State and County correctional facilities. These residents have expressed a desire to continue on with a faith-based type of program once outside the correctional system.

Zumbro Valley Mental Health Center has provided mental health and chemical dependency treatment programs for the residents of southeastern Minnesota since 1965. Passages is a residential facility that provides both extended care and halfway house programming for chemically dependent men ages 18 and older. The program is a structured, recovery-based program designed to provide a transition for men completing a primary chemical dependency treatment program.Passages' halfway house program emphasizes attaining job skills and/or pursuing educational goals. Men in this program must attend five hours of structured programming each week, including group sessions, individual counseling, job skills training and special needs of men in recovery.

St. Cloud Hospital’s Behavioral Health Services offers a full range of mental health and chemical abuse services, including child, adolescent and adult outpatient treatment, partial hospitalization and inpatient services. The fully integrated professional programs offered by Behavioral Health Services provide individuals with the emotional, physical and spiritual support they need to return to healthy living. Journey Home is a residential facility providing both extended care and halfway house programming for chemically dependent women and their children. It is a structured, recovery-focused setting for women ages 16 and older who are referred to us after the completion of primary chemical dependency treatment. The two programming models at Journey Home are halfway house and extended care. The halfway house model focuses on attaining job skills or pursuing educational goals. In the extended care model, women must attend a minimum of 15 hours a week of structured program activities covering topics such as parenting skills, spirituality, anger, educational and vocational planning, financial health and relapse prevention. In addition, mothers’ and toddlers’ groups are available. Our structured children’s program includes screening and assessment, developmental issues, play therapy and individual counseling, and is conducted by our trained child care staff under the guidance of the day care supervisor. The staff is assisted by community professionals.

A 30-bed primary residential treatment center for Alcoholism/Chemical Dependency. This center is owned and operated by Minnesota Indians for the benefit of the American Indian community. When Mah-ka-wisen (Ojibwe for "Be Strong: Accept Help") admitted its first Indian client in September 1978, the facility was the first Indian-owned, Indian-operated center of its kind in the nation. Today, it is one of several similar centers nationwide, but it still enjoys one of the highest "success" rates for Indian clients of any treatment program in the country. In fact, the U.S. Public Health Service has found Mash-ka-wisen to offer the finest service of its kind anywhere. On beautiful Big Lake, within the Fond du Lac Reservation. The center is 30 minutes by car from Duluth, and two hours from the Twin Cities.

Next Step is an adolescent chemical dependency treatment facility for young men ages 14 - 19 located in Staples, Minnesota. Next Step is Minnesota Residents and Family (CRF) Rule compliant, and we are able to offer a full continuum of care. This means that we offer primary treatment and extended care services for all residents and transitional services for those planning to stay in the Staples area. Treatment of chemical dependency in Minnesota has changed. Next Step is able to offer a full range of services based on client need. Endeavor Place has developed a comprehensive treatment program specializing in helping adolescent males (14-19) who are struggling with substance abuse. Our strengths are in the small size (8 residents) and a strong therapeutic program. This facility serves clients who meet the criteria for chemical abuse or dependency, who are ambulatory, and are not diagnosed with severe medical conditions. All prospective clients will be interviewed and assessed on an individual basis to determine whether this program can meet their needs. The estimated length of stay at this facility will vary from client to client and is dependent on the client's success and suitable placement.

Our Chemical Health department provides a continuation of care services for individuals whose ingestion of mind-altering chemicals is harmful to themselves and others. The philosophy we support is that this is an illness. It does have clear signs and symptoms and there is a reasonable rate of recovery when treated. In addition, we believe that participants and families have the right to education and rehabilitation.

Bell Hill Recovery Center is a private, non-profit rehabilitation facility located 6 miles north of Wadena, Minnesota. We have been providing long term chemical dependency services to adult males and females since 1973. Our inpatient treatment program is relapse-based and can serve 20 males over 18 years of age. In addition, we offer a Board and Lodge for males and females that provides a safe, chemically free living environment. Situated on 47 acres in rural central Minnesota, the campus includes Dormitory style resident halls, Dining Room, Recreation Center, Gymnasium, Hobby Shop, TV Lounge, group rooms and offices.

Rainbow Behavioral Health Services Chartered offers psychological and substance abuse services. We serve Cottonwood County and surrounding counties through our office in Windom, MN. We are located at 305 S. 9th Street in downtown Windom on the south side of the town square. Rainbow Behavioral Health Services Chartered offers comprehensive behavioral health services for all persons over the age of 7. Our professional staff includes a licensed alcohol and drug counselor and a licensed psychologist who is also a licensed professional counselor.
